I am totally baffled by humans. What’s the sense behind the concept that seems to have permeated Western society that there’s no immediate personal benefit in environmentally responsible behavior?

We shouldn’t always need a selfish motivation to do something, but in this case, it’s right there — and everyone is looking past it.
